Dear Friends of Pine Creek,
Over the summer months, we have been making major progress with our final phase of development. The spine road, from the entrance to the lodge and cabin area, is being paved, making the club’s amenities easily accessible for all types of vehicles. Construction on the lodge is rapidly nearing completion; Marc-Michaels Interior Design has completed Ranch 16’s interior decorating, and Ranch 3 is in the finishing stages as well. Construction has commenced on the William’s family Ranch #9; officially know as “The W,” and the Cabins at Pine Creek will commence construction within the next thirty days, including a new loop road and a 5-acre lake.
I am excited for the fall season, and know that our members will be extremely pleased with the way Pine Creek Sporting Club is unfolding. In the upcoming season, members can expect their first-class wing shooting experience to be complimented with a new member’s lodge and equestrian program. The quail fields have been increased in size and there will be some fabulous bird shooting waiting for your return.
I hope that you and your family well, and to see you in the fall.
Regards,

Stephen Myers, Jr.

Meet the Staff... Franklin Thacker – Assistant Dog Trainer & Handler |
|
|
Franklin Thacker was born in Pikeville, Kentucky in 1987, and moved to Okeechobee at the age of four. By the age of nine, Franklin was hunting ducks, and loved it. He has been hunting ever since.
Franklin began training dogs at the age of eleven with his uncle, Bill Thacker – Pine Creek’s chief dog trainer and handler. While in high school, Franklin worked at Quail Creek Plantation where he benefited from lessons in hunting and guest services. In 2005, Franklin graduated from Okeechobee High School and later began working with Pine Creek in 2008.
Franklin’s passion for the outdoors has made him knowledgeable about a variety of forms of hunting, archery and fishing. “Franklin is a perfect compliment to my dog program,” said Bill Thacker. “He is nurturing and patient, and the dogs who don’t do well under pressure respond positively to him.” In the summer months, Franklin is helpful laboring the fields; he has experience working ranch equipment and facilitating duties. During the hunting season, Franklin guides members and their guests throughout the hundreds of acres of quail fields at Pine Creek, and he does it with a humble understanding of the terrain and animals.
Franklin lives on property year-round, in the employee apartments, with Becca and their son, Cameron Dean Thacker.
