Pine Creek Sporting Club hosted the 12th Annual Boy Scouts of America Sporting Clays Tournament and 100 Year Anniversary Celebration on Friday, January 22, 2010 from 8:30 AM until 4:00 PM. More than 180 shooters were registered for the event at a cost of $2,000 per foursome. All proceeds went to the Youth Programs of the Gulf Stream Council, Boy Scouts of America, supporting more than 24,000 Scouts across seven counties in Southeast Florida. The Sporting Clays Tournament included an 8:30 AM breakfast, 10:00 AM shotgun start, 12:30-2:00 PM lunch and live auction, and 2:00-4:00 PM buggy tours of Pine Creek Sporting Club.
“Having an opportunity to host an event for Boy Scouts of America is a great honor,” said Pine Creek Sporting Club Founder Stephen Myers Jr. “This is an organization that has been making a difference in the lives of young people for 100 years.”
A successful kickoff event, The Sportsman’s Grand Jamboree Cocktail Auction, was held Thursday, January 14, 2010 at Palm Beach Motor Cars in West Palm Beach. The Centennial Honorary Chairmen & Committee for both events include: William Koch, Oxbow, Inc.; The Honorable Lois Frankel; Palm Beach Councilman, William Diamond; and the Event Chairman is Mark Simpson of Palm Beach Motor Cars.
