New Development - Pool and Fitness Center
92,000 Longleaf Pine Trees will be Planted in Fall 2010

Happy Summer to ALL!! We are working hard to get ahead for next year. Burning, weed control, roller chopping, expanding the Quail fields, re-doing all of our internal roads and training the hunting dogs are just a few of our daily chores.

We have just broken ground on the new Pool and Fitness Center complex and we are very excited. Even though the Lodge will be closed for July and August, please feel free to let us know if you want to come to shoot or enjoy any of our other outdoor amenities.

My pic for this newsletter is of Annika and Zachary Tucker. ALL Annika wanted for her 5th Birthday was to go on her FIRST Horseback ride. Mr. Ben obliged!

Safe Travels and Summer to ALL and PLEASE come visit us SOON!!

92,000 Longleaf Pine Trees will be Planted in Fall 2010 Back to Top Back to Top

In November of 2010 Pine Creek Sporting Club will be embarking on a remarkable forestation project to benefit the common area quail fields shared by the members. There will be 92,000 Longleaf Pines planted spanning 300 acres - that's 305 trees per acre!

Longleaf Pines (Pinus palustris) are native to central Florida. According to the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences, longleaf pines once covered 30-60 million acres of the southeastern United States Coastal Plain. Longleaf pines were often utilized for sailing ship masts, and depleted throughout 200 years of logging and land clearing.

This forestation project is not only good for the earth and land value, it will provide a challenging and exciting experience for shooters in the field. When the Pines are first planed they will grow 2 feet for the first two years and then grow 3-4 feet every year after that. This forestation initiative is a prime example of Pine Creek's stewardship of the land.
